I'm a Green Card holder and want to apply for US citizenship, but I've traveled abroad for more than 6 months. What should I do?

If you traveled abroad for more than 6 months but less than a year as a Green Card holder, USCIS presumes you broke your continuous residence for naturalization.

But that's not the end. You can try to prove you kept strong ties to the U.S. with evidence like a job, home, or family. If you can’t prove this, you may need to wait and restart your eligibility period from your return date
