If my green card application (I-485) is pending and I travel abroad without advance parole, what will happen when I return?

Your I-485 will be considered abandoned and denied.

CBP may say you abandoned your residence which means you won’t be able to enter

There may be some serious issues because it will be hard for you to prove that you didn't abandon residence.
