To relocate to America with your family, you can apply for a family visa if you have a relative, or an employment visa if you have a job offer. You can also check if the Diversity Visa Lottery is available for your country.

Legal ways to immigrate to the United States

To move permanently to the United States, a foreigner must meet one of the conditions:

  • win the Green Card lottery;
  • plan to establish a family relationship with a local citizen;
  • have first-line American relatives;
  • invest financially in the state’s economy;
  • sign an employment contract with a US organization;
  • enroll in a public or private institution of higher education.

Children can become American citizens at birth when they reach the age of majority (age 21). Parents and close relatives will be eligible for a US passport under the family reunification program
