I recently received a request for evidence (RFE) on my immigration application, and it made me anxious because I thought my case was straightforward. Does receiving an RFE mean something is wrong, and how seriously should I treat the response?

An RFE does not mean your case will be denied. It simply means the officer needs more information to make a decision. Many strong cases receive RFEs due to missing documents or clarification needs.

Responding fully and on time is critical. Ignoring an RFE or submitting incomplete information can lead to denial. Treat it as an opportunity to strengthen your case rather than a setback.

I received an RFE and felt discouraged, but after responding carefully, my case was approved. Taking it seriously and being thorough made all the difference.
