I recently became a U.S. citizen, but my 20-year-old son is still on a student visa. What’s the fastest way to bring him into permanent residency now?

Congrats on becoming a U.S. citizen! Since your son is under 21, you can file Form I-130—he’s considered an immediate relative and can get a green card relatively quickly.

As a U.S. citizen, you can petition for your 20-year-old son's permanent residency by filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, and once approved, he'll be eligible to apply for an immigrant visa or adjust his status if he's in the U.S.; since he's unmarried and over 21 isn't a factor yet, his age might become a consideration soon, so it's best to start the process promptly
