I overstayed my tourist visa but recently married a U.S. citizen. Can I apply for a green card in the U.S.?

If you entered legally, you can usually apply for adjustment of status inside the U.S., even with an overstay. Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens are often forgiven for overstays. If there was fraud or misrepresentation, speak to an attorney first.

You should apply to adjust your status, but you may face some challenge proving that the marriage wasn’t your initial intention

It’s possible but you need to have strong evidence that the marriage wasn’t just to get status. Act fast since you’re already out of status
