I need to visit the US to help a family member who is resident of NY, I'm planning on being the for 5 months and I need to know for how long I've to be out of the country to be able to go back in. I'm from Argentina and I've a B1 visa for the US

for B1 visa, there is no fixed amount of time you must stay outside the US before returning. I think it is even best to spend more time outside the US than inside

So, there's no set time; stays and returns depend on the discretion of CBP officers. Prolonged visits may raise scrutiny. Consult an immigration attorney for guidance.
