I applied for naturalization, but I’ve been outside the U.S. for 7 months due to family reasons. Will this break my continuous residence requirement?

Yes, trips longer than 6 months may disrupt continuous residence.

You may need to provide proof (job, home, family ties) that you didn’t abandon residency.

If USCIS decides you broke continuity, you might need to wait longer to apply again.

Shorter, frequent trips are less risky than a single long absence.
