I am from Bulgaria and currently in the United States. I need to travel back home urgently for my parent’s burial and plan to stay for about two months. I am worried about how this trip might affect my visa status, reentry to the U.S., and any future immigration plans. What should I consider before traveling?

Your ability to return depends on your current visa status and whether it will remain valid during your absence. You should confirm reentry rules before leaving the U.S.

If your visa will expire or your status is fragile, traveling could prevent you from returning. An immigration lawyer can help assess the risks based on your specific situation.
