Yes — if you're out of the U.S. for more than 6 months, it may be seen as abandoning residency

Yes, you can lose your green card if you stay outside the U.S. too long, especially if you are absent for say 6 months or one year without a reentry permit or if immigration officials believe you have abandoned the U.S. as your permanent home
