Can deportation be stopped if I marry a U.S. citizen?

Possibly, but timing and intent matter a lot—USCIS and the court must believe the marriage is genuine.

You must file a marriage-based green card petition and a motion to reopen/remand if ordered removed.

ICE may halt removal temporarily, but there's no automatic benefit from marriage.
