Yes, a joint sponsor may submit a separate Form I-864 if the primary petitioner’s income does not meet the required threshold. The joint sponsor must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, at least 18 years old, and domiciled in the United States. They must independently meet the income requirements based on their household size.
