Am thinking about starting my own business in the US. Will I do that on a work visa or another type of visa?

You can’t start your own business on a work visa because work visas need an employers. You need an investor visa like E-2 or another visa that allows self-employment.

Having an American work visa means you have to work for the employer that sponsored you. I advise you to talk to a lawyer to know the best visa for you

So from what I know, it typically requires an E-2 Investor Visa, L-1 Visa, or EB-5 Visa, not a work visa. Options depend on investment amount and nationality.
