After receiving an admission letter from a U.S. university, I am preparing for my first international journey. I have never traveled to the United States before and want to understand the visa steps, financial proof expectations, and arrival requirements. I also want to know how to avoid mistakes that could delay my student visa approval at the interview stage process.

Student visa is a non-immigrant visa, so you should prepare evidence that you will return home

Show ties to your home country. Make them believe that you will go back

You will need to apply for an F-1 student visa and prepare documents showing admission, funding, and intent to study.

The U.S. embassy will expect clear proof that you can pay tuition and living expenses. You should also be ready to explain your study plans and ties to your home country. Honest and organized answers help avoid delays.

Make sure your SEVIS fee is paid and your documents are consistent. Practice answering interview questions confidently and clearly. Arriving prepared reduces the risk of administrative processing.
