I’ve been in the U.S. on a work visa for a few years now—what should I know if I want to apply for a green card through my employer?

If you want to apply for a green card through your employer, they need to sponsor you. You’ll have to go through a process involving labor certification and filing certain forms like I-140 and I-485 (if my memory serves me correctly)
