Can I apply for U.S. citizenship if I’ve spent a significant amount of time outside the U.S. during my permanent residency?

Spending too much time outside the US while being a permanent resident can mess up your chance to apply for citizenship. You usually need to show you lived in the US continuously and were physically there. If you stayed outside the country for more than 6 months at once, it can break your continuous residence

Yes, but extended time outside the U.S. may disrupt the continuous residence requirement for naturalization. You may need to provide additional evidence to prove your intent to maintain U.S. residency. Hope this helps!
