My lawful permanent resident parent filed a petition for me under the F2B category. What does my priority date mean, and how do I know when it becomes current?

Your priority date is the date USCIS received the I-130 petition. In preference categories like F2B, visas are limited annually, so applicants must wait until their priority date becomes current under the Visa Bulletin published monthly by the U.S. Department of State. When your priority date is earlier than the date listed in the bulletin for your category and country, you may proceed with adjustment of status or consular processing.

You have to keep up with the monthly visa bulletin published by USCIS to know when your priority date becomes current
