Mr. Naresh M Gehi, Esq. Attorney

Naresh Gehi is an immigration attorney licensed to practice law in the Eastern and Southern District of New York, and in the State of Connecticut. He is also admitted to the Court of Appeals. Attorney Gehi holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Georgia, and was employed by former administrative judge, Jeffrey M. Gottlieb, Esq., for approximately six years. During his employment with Mr. Gottlieb, Atty. Gehi learned the art of dealing with complicated immigration cases, including H-1Bs, Labor Certifications, I-140s, I-485s, deportation proceedings, and family-based petitions. In addition, Atty. Gehi maintains an active trial practice, specializing in arguing complex deportation cases. One of Atty. Gehi’s most arduous cases involved a client whose name and birth date matched that of a suspected terrorist. This case ultimately required representation in front of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and led to the client successfully obtaining his green card.

Attorney Gehi is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is very active with the corporate committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Gehi has also been a speaker at the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has lectured attorneys at the American Immigration Lawyers Association in connection with Legal Ethics.

Christi M. Gelo, Esq.
Associate Attorney

Ms. Gelo is licensed to practice in New York State and Federal Courts (Eastern and Southern Districts of New York). Ms. Gelo obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law and graduated with honors from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Government & Politics. While in law school, Ms. Gelo served on the executive board of Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity. Ms. Gelo practices in the areas of immigration, bankruptcy, civil litigation, estate planning and Medicaid/SSI planning. She has successfully litigated many cases, particularly in deportation/removal proceedings before the United States Department of Justice Immigration Courts. Ms. Gelo is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on International Law, and is a certified NYS Court Evaluator, Guardian and Attorney for Incapacitated Persons under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law.

 

 Douglas Michaels, Esq.
Attorney

Douglas Michaels joined the firm in December of 2009. Mr. Michaels is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey State Courts. After obtaining his B.A. from Binghamton University with a major in Philosophy, Politics and Law, Mr. Michaels received his J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School, where he graduated Cum Laude. While in law school, Mr. Michaels was part of the University at Buffalo Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Mr. Michaels has special interest in the areas of immigration, bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, and intellectual property law.
 

Veronica Frösen, Esq.
Attorney

Veronica Frösen joined the firm in January 2010 and is licensed to practice in the State of New York. Ms. Frösen has gained extensive experience in family based immigration and family law, while in law school. Following law school, she worked in real estate litigation and employment discrimination. Ms. Frösen has worked with domestic violence victims to successfully obtain VAWA and U-Visa status in a non-profit organization. She has also worked extensively in applying for asylum, filing BIA appeals and practicing federal litigation. Ms. Frösen specializes in family based immigration, deportation and removal and residential real estate litigation.

Ms. Frösen received her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in International Relations from the University of California at Davis in 2005. She then earned her Juris Doctorate with honors from New York Law School.
